So… About That Second Date <3
Dear Badlanders,
I know.
We said some things.
You called me names somewhere around mile 27.
I made you run through swamps.
At least three of you threatened to quit trail running forever.
It was a lot. I'm a lot.
But then...
You ate a burger.
You got your medal.
You started telling stories and you convinced yourself it "wasn't that bad."
And before you knew it, you were scrolling through photos wondering when we'd see each other again.
Funny how that works.
Well... I've been thinking about you too.
Not in a creepy way.
Mostly.
I'd like to ask you out on that second date...
This October 17th, we're heading to Brighton Recreation Area for the inaugural DEADFALL Trail Races.
This one will be a little different.
No night start.
No walk of shame.
No wondering if we'd still be waiting for you at the finish line when the sun came up.
Just beautiful Michigan fall colors, winding singletrack, rolling hills, crisp October air, and enough roots to keep you humble.
You can choose between:
25K
18K
10K
Think of DEADFALL as BADLANDS' slightly more emotionally available sibling.
Still adventurous.
Still a little toxic.
Just... fewer red flags. (or pink)
We've taken everything we learned from our first race together and poured it into making this one even better. Better course marking. Better flow. Better atmosphere. The same attention to detail, the same community, and hopefully a little less emotional damage.
I'm not saying we're soulmates.
I'm just saying... maybe don't leave me on read.
Registration is officially open.
If you're willing to give me a second date, I promise it'll be memorable.
Hopefully for the right reasons this time.
