Blackwood Racing started the same way most bad ideas do — during a long run when someone said, “We should start a race.”

Since nobody shut that idea down, we now have the Badlands 50K & 100K at Island Lake Recreation Area.

The Night 50K and Overnight 100K start Saturday night, which means you’ll spend a good portion of the race running through the woods with a headlamp wondering how your little “hobby” got this out of hand.

For the slightly smarter folks, there’s also a Sunday morning 50K for the runners who prefer daylight…

Trails are great, aid stations will be stocked, and the course will be marked.

The running part is unfortunately still your responsibility.
